This past Sunday Tom and I went to Melanie and John's house. Tom and John worked on replacing a part on the 4 Wheeler while Mel and I worked a little on Carter's announcements. I enjoyed hanging out with Mel and Carter. We don't get a chance to do it very often even though we live close to each other.

Mother's Day/Birthdays Celebration
On Sunday Tom and I drove to Victoria to celebrate Mother's Day, Jim's 40TH Brithday and Tavy's 9th Birthday. Sunday was a FULL day and we enjoyed seeing everyone. I was bad and didn't break out the camera while I was with the Ninke group (Jim, Shelly, Katy, Kristy & LaRue). Here are a few I did take:

Happy 3rd Wedding Anniversary!
Saint Louis Statue
Billy found this:

You may recognize the head and hat from the pictures below. The statue stands 23 feet tall. The water was definitely high when we were in Saint Louis. Tom was speculating it could have been the head of the headless horseman but I guess he was wrong. ;o)

Favorite Receipe Website!
Lately I have been using the RecipeZaar website at least weekly to find new recipes. If you are stuck in a rut this is a good site to surf but I am warning ya... it will make you very hungry.
Here are a few of the recipes I have tried and found very yummy:
Copy Cat Chili's Chicken Enchilada Soup
Cajun Chicken Pasta
You can create your own cookbook with out having to pay for the premium service. I always like free! ;o)

St Louis Trip
We had a great time in Saint Louis with Billy, Estela & Isabella the last weekend in April. We had great food including toasted raviolis, Ted Drewes frozen custard and a wonderful food at a nice restaurant that Tom picked out. I definitely would recommend the frozen custard “concrete” at Ted Drewe’s. I got the Carmel Apple Sundae… YUMMY. Toasted raviolis are pretty yummy too.
On Friday we visited the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis and briefly walked around the waterfront by the Arch. The Catherdral was beautiful and the details were amazing. Billy and Tom took some amazing photos of the church.
The Mississippi was over its banks while we were there. This guy looks liked he was drowning and need some help. lol.
On Saturday we went to the Arch and to a Cardinals/Astros game (‘Stros lost, bummer). We stayed in a hotel downtown so for the most part everything was within walking distance.
Isabella was a very good baby during all of our sightseeing and through the baseball game. We really enjoyed spending time with her.

This is my favorite picture of trip though. Thanks Billy.
Thank you Billy & Estela for inviting us! We had a great time.

Rainy Monday
This is what the current radar shows for the Houston/Spring area. It started around 4 am with a ton of thunder and is still going strong at 1 pm. I still need to check the trees close to our house because something was hit close by. Myia hates rain and thunder but she did fairly well this morning only making noise once.I know why it is raining though. It isn't the result of the scientific mumbo jumbo the meteorologist are mentioning. It is raining because Tom and I watered the yard yesterday. It figures. lol.
;o)
Hope everyone is staying safe and dry.

Visit to Sam Houston National Forest
Ok, so I went to college in Huntsville for 4 yrs and I have lived in Spring for over 5 yrs now (really close to the Sam Houston National Forest) but the first time I had ever been there was two weeks ago. I never realised how close it actually was. We found a couple of nice multi-purpose trails. When we get the 4 wheelers working Mel, John, Tom and I have a legal place to go ride the 4 wheelers! ;o)
As we were driving through the Park Rangers were having a controlled burn... very close to the road. I was able to get a few interesting photos:
*Funny* The sign above says Prevent Forest Fires!
We also found a few Blue Bonnets (after all the fire this was a nice treat!)
Houston Rodeo - Dierks Bentely
Still updating with past photos... only a month behind now (Whoo hoo!)
Mel, John, Tom and I had a great time at the Houston Rodeo in March. We found a great place to park close to the Sam's and we took the tram to Reliant Park. That was the first time we had the chance to ride on the Houston tram system. Definitely will park in the same place next year. Dierks Bentely performance was good and I always love to see the calf scramble!

More Carter Photos
Mommy and Daddy went on a cruise at the end of February and I was the lucky person babysit Carter while they were away. Carter was such a good baby while staying at our house. Makes taking care of babies look easy but I think Mommy told him to be a good boy just for Aunt Tammy. LOL
This was Saturday morning... I was trying to wake him up.

We are starting early... Go Aggies. ;o)

Happy Friday - Some Texas Humor
I personally like 8 through 11. I sure do love okra!
Things I learned living in Texas .
1. A possum is a flat animal that sleeps in the middle of the road.
2. There are 5,000 types of snakes and 4,998 of them live in Texas .
3. There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 of them live in Texas , plus a couple no one's seen before.
4. If it grows, it'll stick ya. If it crawls, it'll bite cha.
5. "Onced" and "Twiced" are words.
6. It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy!
7. "Jaw-P?" means "Did ya'll go to the bathroom?"
8. People actually grow and eat okra.
9. "Fixinto" is one word.
10. There is no such thing as "lunch". There is only dinner and then there is supper.
11. Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two. We do like a little tea with our sugar.
12. Backwards and forwards means "I know everything about you."
13. The word "jeet" is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"
14. You don't have to wear a watch, because it doesn't matter what time it is, you work until you're done or it's too dark to see.
15. You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH EM.
16. "No. Jew?" is a common response to the question "Did you bring any beer?"
17. You measure distance in minutes.
18. You switch from heat to A/C in the same day.
19. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable, grain, insect or animal.
20. You know what a "DAWG" is.
21. You carry jumper cables in your car --- for your OWN car.
22. You only own five spices: salt, pepper, Tony's, Tabasco and Ketchup.
23. The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local high school sports and motor sports, and gossip.
24. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.
25. You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit "a bit warm".
26. You know all four seasons: Almost summer, summer, still summer, and Christmas.
27. Going to Wal-Mart is a favorite past time know as "goin' Wal-Martin" or "off to Wally World".
28. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good chicken stew weather.
29. Fried catfish is the other white meat.
30. We don't need no dang driver's Ed. If our mama says we can drive, we can drive dag-nabbit.
31. You understand these jokes and forward them to your Texas friends and those who just wish they were from Texas.

New Nike Gadget
I just love Gadgets! I bought a Nike+ Ipod Sport Kit yesterday. This is a cool little gadget. I put the sensor in my new Nike shoes, plug in an receiver into my Ipod and it tracks how far and what my pace is. Then I can load it all into the Nike Website and it tracks my progress. On the right side column of this blog I have loaded the Nike summary, Tom's and my first run data with the sensor is logged. Pretty darn cool if you ask me. Although now, you will know if I don't get off my lazy butt and exercise. uh, oh! ;o)
Here is the product info for the Nike Ipod/Sensor Gadget:

Nieces - Katy Kristy and Madison
We are still in catch up mode on the blog posts... like normal.
Here are a few pictures from our trip to Victoria in January. These girls are fun to be around and definitely can keep us grown up kids occupied.
When Katy, Kristy and Madison all get together a game of chase usually happens. It is funny to watch and they are very noisey!

Jan 2008 Trip (A little Behind..)
Tommy had to go for work so I tagged along. Lovely city but it is kinda cold in the winter. LOL. Of course, it was not as cold as Norway in December. Thank goodness! We walked around downtown for an entire day on Friday, then we were able to get tickets to the play Wicked at the Ford Theater that night. Definitely worth the $$. Luckily for me, the hotel I booked was right next door to Nine West Shoe Store. (Tom swore I did that on purpose, lol) I was able to find boots to replace the boots that were stolen from my suitcase on the way home from Norway at Christmas time. Yae!
Some of the highlights:
